How much does counselling cost?

Can I get a Medicare rebate?
Yes you can, if you have a referral from your GP. See our Fees Page for more detailed information
Do I have to get a referral from my GP?
No, you don’t have to get a referral, you can self-refer to a psychologist.
However note that do need a referral to claim a Medicare rebate, our Fees Page has more detailed information
Does Manwise see female clients for counselling?
Yes we do.
The fact that we at Manwise feel there needs to be more of a focus on men’s mental health and wellbeing, doesn’t change the fact that we have provided counselling for women over many years.
Does Manwise deal with any problem?
Manwise provides an individualised psychotherapy service, assisting you to achieve your desired outcome – whether work, social, relationship or personal in nature. If your specific problem is outside of our area of competence we will discuss this with you, and work out the best way forwards.
What services are not provided?
Manwise does not conduct educational assessments or provide input into school or educational related problems.
Manwise does not provide specialised reports related to legal matters. If you are thinking of attending appointments at Manwise which may require a report in the future (for example related to a divorce, child custody dispute or other pending legal proceedings) please indicate that up front, and we will evaluate whether we can assist.
